Free service on GO Transit offers families like the Shayans the chance to explore and have fun
Any opportunity for the Shayan family to get out, have fun and capture their experience is always one they’ll jump at. Everything from toy shopping to grabbing their favourite ice cream is published online and now they’re on a roll. Literally.
Family Day gave 11-year-old Ibaad, 10-year-old Shanzay and 4-year-old Mohid a chance to jump aboard a GO train for the first time. The quick trip took the family from Port Credit to Union Station while their mother documented the whole thing on video.
“The whole GO train,” says Shumaila Shayan. “From inside and outside the station where they got those candies. They talked about how comfortable the seats were and how cozy the ride was.”
Here’s the video that the family produced for their own YouTube channel:

The ride was free thanks to a long weekend promotion, allowing kids 12 and under to take GO Transit and UP Express for no charge. Even the popular mascot, GO Bear, made an appearance to greet families coming and going from downtown Toronto.

One customer shared the story of her “grandbabies” getting to see their mother at work and meeting GO Bear along the way. Others offered thanks on Twitter:
