Following the Feb. 28 announcement that kids would soon ride free on GO transit, customers – especially parents – lit up social media.
Starting March 9, 2019, kids 12 and under can ride free on all GO trains and buses, making it easier and more affordable for families to take transit throughout the region — just in time for March Break.
Kids 12 and under do not need to tap with a PRESTO card or purchase a paper ticket to ride on GO Transit.
The change, which was officially approved by the Metrolinx Board of Directors on March 1, creates a more seamless, connected transit experience for customers.
Best news ever @Metrolinx #GOtrain free for kids ages 12 and below will definitely increase ridership especially with March Break round the corner 🎉
