Transit is so top of mind in communities across the Greater Golden Horseshoe region of Ontario, so far this year, Metrolinx senior management have answered more than 1,200 queries during a series of community town halls.
One of those sessions will take place this Thursday (Dec. 5) in Scarborough, and will help Toronto customers and community members – as it has during past conversations – have their say while inspiring the future of public transit.
The latest town hall – held at the Scarborough Civic Centre, located at 150 Borough Drive – will include key Metrolinx decision makers, along with experts who are designing and improving systems locally and across Ontario’s most populated communities.
It’s an opportunity to engage with Metrolinx CEO Phil Verster and members of his team.
The travelling town halls were born from sessions held in late 2017 and 2018 at Toronto’s Union Station. Metrolinx officials felt their community updates on regional activities would connect better if they took place within the neighbourhoods.
That means giving an update as well as fielding questions in person and virtually.
The public are able to ask questions in advance and vote on submissions here, as well as attend the town halls either online or in-person. Metrolinx has committed to answering all questions within 15 business days.
All the events are live streamed, and are archived and available for the public to catch up on, even later.
But there’s nothing like being there in person, to have your voice heard.
