Transit building continues – Progress moving forward on Finch West LRT headquarters

Metrolinx News continues to bring you the latest construction milestones on the Finch West Light Rail Transit (LRT) project, thanks to new images that take you behind and above construction barriers. This time we focus on the Finch West LRT maintenance and storage facility. Here are the latest pictures. 

Whether it’s from the skies or right up close, it’s hard not to be impressed by the Finch West LRT maintenance and storage facility. 

It might be the dead of winter, but the substantial site that will make up the nerve centre for the future rapid transit line, is abuzz with activity.

Zooming in a lot closer, you can see tracks and support poles for overhead power system are being installed.

Background on the maintenance and storage facility 

The Finch West LRT maintenance and storage facility is a 10,000 sq. metre building that will house 26 LRVs, a train wash facility, a material storage building, and an administration office.
