It’s been awhile since many of us have gotten back to using GO Transit to travel across the region, especially during weekends. But now, as Ontario begins to leave the pandemic behind to venture out again, Metrolinx is offering Weekend Passes to help customers save money and rediscover the region. They’re only available online – and here’s what they’re all about.
Metrolinx is introducing Weekend Passes for GO Transit trips, to help riders explore the Greater Golden Horseshoe Region of Ontario.
The incentives mark a return to pleasure trips on GO Transit after more than a year of largely essential travel, and come after the announcement of more weekend and holiday services on the Barrie, Lakeshore East and West lines starting July 10.

The new GO Transit deals include two new fare options under the Weekend Pass banner on the e-ticketing website.
Go here to get to that site directly.
The options include:
- $10 One-Day (valid for travel on either Saturday, Sunday or Holiday only)
- $15 Weekend (valid for travel on Saturday + Sunday, and any additional Holiday day)
The passes are available online only – not at stations or by using PRESTO. Once purchased online, they will be emailed to customers using your smartphone.

Activate First
Travellers should remember to activate the deals five minutes prior to boarding a GO Train or Bus.
All the passes provide unlimited travel across the GO system – whether on bus or train – for a flat fare. For example: with a pass purchased between Oshawa and Burlington, a rider can board a train at Oshawa, get off at Rouge Hill, board again at Rouge Hill, get off at Burlington, then travel back to Oshawa. The options are endless.

Riders can explore favourite destinations across the entire GO network in the Greater Toronto and Hamilton area on a weekend with one flat fare. A full Weekend Pass allows for a weekend getaway without the burden of overnight parking at your favourite destination.
