Metrolinx News brings you regular updates on the Eglinton Crosstown LRT project as it moves closer to completion – using the latest images from construction crews. This week, the photos are from inside two underground stations along the route.
That’s a lot of white tiles.
Deep underground Eglinton Avenue in Toronto, construction teams are laying the floors that will be tread on by millions of TTC customers in the not-to-distant future.
In this case, we’re talking about Leaside Station.
At the corner of Bayview Avenue and Eglinton Avenue East, Leaside is one of 10 underground stations along the Eglinton Crosstown light rail transit (LRT) line.
Leaside Station will have two entrances at street level, provide connections to TTC buses, and have bike parking spots.

A bit further east at Science Centre Station, another underground stop, passenger assistance intercoms have been installed and are starting to come online.
Once the Crosstown LRT is in service, the intercoms will connect to the TTC operating centres responsible for helping customers.
This important safety feature will be installed at all stations and stops.
